Episode 26: Tarantula (1955)

from Watch WHAT now? Hosted by Eric and Melissa

"No footprints! No blood! No sign of a struggle! The bones just stripped clean like peeling a banana!" If we’ve learned anything from 1950s sci-fi movies, it’s that radiation and science is bad when multi-legged creatures are involved. We also the Arizona desert can be dangerous enough on its own, but when a well intentioned professor causes a tarantula to grow to immense size, all hell can break loose. Nothing is safe from this over-sized arachnid and it’s up to the local doctor, a lab assistant, and Clint Eastwood (yes, THAT Clint Eastwood) to save the town from being devoured. Join us for Episode 26 as we try to decipher all the scientific jargon told to us in the film as well as see how this popular “Big Bug” movie really sizes up. We’ll do our best to strip this movie clean like a banana and keep you all entertained in the process. Hopefully you won't feel like you’re painfully mutating into someone with Acromegaly while that happens. And whatever you do, please don’t stick your finger in some random white goo you find in a field and taste it. That’s just nasty.
