EPISODE 262 - Arnold Weathers

from Who Asked You? · host Chase Shumway

Arnold Weathers stars in PREDATORBruce Willis is out of THE EXPENDABLES 3. He felt he was worth a million bucks a day. Sylvester Stallone, the movie’s executive producer and star disagreed. This topic inspired today’s image at the left. It’s a creepy hybrid of Carl Weathers and Arnold Schwarzenegger. To Jabari’s dismay, Carl Weathers was not tapped to appear in part three. And like Stallone’s feelings towards Willis’ fat pay day, Dennis disagreed. The two banter for a bit about who really deserves to be in this shrine to when action flicks were awesome. We all banter for a bit about whether or not the torch has been properly passed to actors of today’s generation. Jabari nearly dies laughing when I suggest that perhaps it has and who the unfortunate recipient is. Before all that though we start the show off with the latest viral video star who seems to be vanishing as fast as she showed up. Crazy Rhubarb Lady as many — including us — have dubbed her has been vulgarly proclaiming that she’s on ally property all week long. She’s even inspired skits on both CONAN and JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE. Not bad for a simple little cell phone clip of a bat-shit crazy gal hellbent on gathering the main ingredient in Rhubarb Pie. And as always with these sorts of videos, a remix got thrown into the mix. We play a snippet of our favorite courtesy of WTFBrahh over on YouTube. Unfortunately, the original video and the remix these guys produced are being pulled from YouTube faster than the Rhubarb overgrowing the victim’s apparent property line. We meant to play the original video on the show and include it in the Show Links, but alas, it was removed due to YouTube’s terms of use with regard to bullying and harassing. My question is, did they pull it because the Crazy Rhubarb Lady is being harassed with all these uploads? Or did they pull it because of her comically, almost satanic verbal assault of the calm woman on the other side of the fence? We also recap you on the exciting week some of us had. Dennis provides a little insight into ELYSIUM, the new Matt Damon and Jodie Foster movie directed by Neill Blomkamp. We also share our thoughts on the Rifftrax Live event featuring a riffed screening of STARSHIP TROOPERS. Dennis and I went to the Fathom Event and had a blast! We share some of our favorite riffs the fellas did. Last year on an episode titled, BORED GAMES we told you about a guy named Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop. This is the guy’s legal name. He changed it after what we can only imagine was a smoking of the most potent joint ever. He made news then for his crazy name. He was arrested on drug charges and was booked under the 28-letter moniker. A listener E-Mail updates us on Beezow and what he’s been doing. Turns out, more drugs. He was busted again, and once again his name barely fit in the name field on his arrest documents. But we get some bonus info this time around. Turns out last year, during his 15-minutes of fame, he explained the meaning behind his bizarre name. You’ll hear what it is on today’s show. It definitely only could’ve come from a pothead. Dennis make a rather startling prediction regarding our featured DVD of the week which means absolutely nothing. It’s a movie starring John Travolta and Robert De Niro. And its synopsis kinda sounds like Dennis might be right. As for other news stories on the show. TEEN BEACH MOVIE, the corporate video demonstrating Disney’s latest lab-grown pretty people technology has reached quite the milestone. We’ll get into that and try to make sense of it. It makes sense that 70s rock band, KISS would buy an Arena Football team. The halftime shows will be the perfect place for them to play. And they plan on doing just that! Gene Simmons’ tongue says every game will be like a KISS concert. That’s perfect, Arena Football’s target demo is already middle-aged dudes! We pay a little visit to the Who Asked You? Cafe to try the latest item on the menu… Pepsi-flavored Cheetos. As if these two things weren’t unhealthy enough on their own, now they’re being combined into one edible chip for the ultra lazy. You actually can’t be too lazy though, you’ll have to go to Japan to get them. FritoLay says they have no intention of bringing them here. Why is it food makers always give the more extreme flavors of snacks and drinks to Japan? The show ends on a note of hypocrisy. San Diego area Hooters restaurants are refusing to serve embattled mayor, Bob Filner. If you don’t know who he is, I fill you in on today’s show. I think you can start to put together what he’s likely guilty of given that Hooters hypocritically won’t serve him. It involves the ladies. And it’s definitely creepier than a Carl Weathers/Arnold Schwarzenegger hybrid.
