It is one of the most devastating earthquakes to ever hit the region impacting an area the size of Germany. Earthquakes have always been near impossible to predict, both the timing and magnitude. However vast amounts of data is still collected and our understanding of how to build resilience and manage the impact of earthquakes is improving. In this episode, we’re trying to understand the seismic events and the methods being used by data scientists to try and reduce the damage they inflict on infrastructure, and communities.
