Episode 271: AUDIO; PAUL CHOSEN TO TAKE THE GOSPEL TO THE GENTILES (Gal. 7)

The outcome of the Council of Jerusalem was to vindicate totallythe gospel that Paul preached among the Gentiles. Believers inChrist, whether Jew or Gentile, are justified by their faith and neither the requirements nor the provisions of the old covenant applyto them. Circumcision and “the law of Moses” have no place inthe scheme of salvation, except as pictures of the spiritual truthrevealed in Christ. Paul and the leaders of the Jerusalem church agreed to a division of work; Paul was to evangelize the Gentiles and they theJews. This agreement, however, was no parting of the ways. It wasbased upon a common gospel, fellowship in Christ, and mutualrespect.
