He got his start as an assistant to composers on video games and film shorts, and worked as a technical score advisor, arranger, and synth programmer, among other roles, for Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions. His first main composer credits in film arrived in 2010 with Lunatics, Lovers & Poets and Burning Palms. A year later, Margeson scored the animated TV series Transformers Prime and the video game Carnival Island. In the meantime, his additional music for other composers could be heard in blockbusters such as X-Men: First Class and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In 2013, Margeson co-wrote the score for the franchise sequel Kick-Ass 2 with Henry Jackman. It incorporated rock elements into a symphonic base. His work in other genres around that time included the 2016 biopic Eddie the Eagle and Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (with Michael Higham). He and Jackman teamed up again for 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and Margeson received sole credit for his music to the 2018 horror film Truth or Dare. The King’s Man score is co-composed by Matthew Margerson and Dominic Lewis and can be heard in theaters now! Please Welcome, Matthew Margeson.Instagram: Monday Morning Critic Podcast.Facebook: Monday Morning Critic Podcast.Twitter:  @[email protected] the show
