Episode 28 - Skate And Destroy Part 1

from I Wanna Party With Bob · host Bob Macpherson

Skateboarding and being a punk rock loving kid was a dangerous business in the early 1980’s, especially if you lived in a, well, let’s just say, less than enlightened and progressive town. Redneck town. That’s what I really meant. Here are tales of my early days skateboarding and being a little punk rock kid in the 1980’s. Chased by angry metalheads, watching skinheads nearly kill people at shows, sparring with the police-cops, finding a home in a local skate shop. There is something here for any disenfranchised child of the 1680’s, hopefully, you can relate. Fun, though rough days, that’s kind of the gist of this one. Note - I also have no idea how a 12 pack of beer is actaully split between 4 people. Hint - it is NOT 4 beers per person, as I claim, it is actually 3 beers per person. Thank you.

What was it like to be a little punk rock loving kid, skateboarding his way through life in the 1980's? Listen to this one and find out. Part one in a series of skateboarding related stories, a trilogy of "tearing it up", if you will. Featuring a couple of songs by the awesome band Dr. Know, this one will take you back.
