Episode 280: “Get Me the HELL Out of Here Part One: Flight Options This week Host Dave Bledsoe stares into the void hoping against hope to see the traditional green livery of the Betelgeuse Trading Scouts only to discover he is no Ford Prefect.  (Don’t worry, we didn’t get it either.)  On the show this week we examine our options for permanent relocation to another, more understandable planet so that we do not have to cope with all the horrible news we’ve experienced this week alone.  (We admit, we are really grasping at straws with this solution.) Along the way we discover why Dave wouldn’t be a good fit for The Shire.  (Turns out Hobbits are easily offended by profanity!) and why Dave drinks as much as he does.  (He claims he is from another planet, but really he needs rehab.)  From there we dive right into our options for leaving Earth for a Better World which is presumably what this episode is about.  (We are not entirely sure).  We delve in the Drake Equation (with obligatory Seinfeld references) only to discover our odds could be better for finding a life.  Then we tackle Fermi’s Paradox (and it’s corollary about why we should never spend the extra money for the Champagne Room in the strip club!)  Before we finally throw up our hands and just assume aliens exist and they will give us a lift.  (No one said it HAS to make sense!)  This is part one of a two part show, next week we get on Zillow looking for a new planet because this one isn’t going to make it.
