In 1941 he and his family relocated to Richmond, California. After graduating high school he fell in love with and married his late wife Alta of 52 years. After serving in the army overseas during the Korean War, he returned to his wife to start a family with three wonderful children. Josephs had many jobs till working and retiring as a mechanic for 25 years for the bay area rapid transit system.
