Episode 288 - Journey to the Far Side of the Sun

Released in 1969, Journey to the Far Side of the Sun is a fun little cult sci-fi film. If you’re familiar with “Thunderbirds,” you’ll recognize the cool use of model special effects used here. The short sell - this is a fun romp through what the future could have been like. The long sell - well, if they had hired actual writers with talent to lay this sucker out, it would have been a classic. As it is, it’s a paper-thin premise with a paper-thin payoff, that ends in a very dark way, but has cool-ass spaceships.
