Episode 288 - Snatched
from In The Queue - Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil · host Andrew and Phil
If you think it's funny watching Amy Schumer suffer (many folks might) this is the Mother's Day comedy for you. While this is not a "good" comedy, it is in the same vein of SNL-type humor that has a big audience. So, while Andrew thinks this movie has too many problems to succeed, Phil believes SNATCHED lives up to the trailer. If you think you will laugh at this movie, you probably will. But even Phil agrees there are flaws with insincere comedies; namely, when they try to work in sincere themes. Mother/daughter conflicts make up for some amusing bits in SNATCHED, but when the film tries to work in serious pathos, it fails pretty miserably.
