Carlos juggles being a high school student in San Francisco during the day, flipping burgers at a place called Tick Tock at night and focuses on his music when he can. He impresses Bill Graham, the owner of the Fillmore, when he gets to jam on stage with Jerry Garcia, Mike Bloomfield and Jorma Kaukonen. Bill Graham gives him his business card and says “Call me, I want you to play live again.” But Carlos doesn’t have a band!
