EPISODE 29: Kickin' Cancer's Can

In episode 29 of Elevated Insights, Superintendent Dr. Mark Ernst hosts a powerful discussion with Andrea Rawlings, a fifth-grade teacher at Overlake Elementary, and Lilian Matson, a 2023 graduate of Tooele High School and honoree of Kickin' Cancer’s Can. Andrea shares how the event started back in 2010 to support a neighbor battling cancer, and how it has since grown into a beloved community-wide celebration. Lilian opens up about her family’s personal journey, having faced cancer twice — both she and her older sister have battled and overcome the disease. Together, they reflect on the resilience, hope, and support that Kickin' Cancer’s Can has provided, not only to these incredible individuals and their families, but also to the thousands of participants and supporters in our community and beyond.
