Episode 29-Scream (1996)
from CinaCult Podcast Hosted by Cordell Caulkins & Lucas Garges
How do you make horror great again when Michael joins a cult, Freddy makes NES puns and Jason goes to hell? You Scream! The box office hit child of Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven revitalized the slasher concept while honoring and satirizing the cliches in this 1996 horror classic. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) isn't having a great time. The one year anniversary of her mother's murder is approaching, her bf Billy (Skeet Ulrich) is horny and a masked killer obsessed with horror movies is killing off her classmates and targeting her. Her friend Tatum (Rose McGowan) tries to cheer her up and Tatum's police brother Dewey (David Arquette) tries to protect her. Can Sidney survive the murderous trivia of Ghostface? Could her friends Randy (Jamie Kennedy) or Stu (Mathew Lillard) be the killer? What about bitchy sensationalist reporter Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox)? Join Cordell and Lucas as we take a STAB at one of Hollywood's most beloved scary movie classics!
