EPISODE 291 - Landfill Worthy

Don’t let the title fool you, some may think our show belongs in the trash, but that’s not the reference here. In fact, this week’s show is a pretty darn good one! We start out talking about this whole Donald Sterling debacle. Surely, you’ve heard about the LA Clippers’ owner making racist comments on a recording allegedly made by his side ho… as Dennis calls her. He’s been fined the maximum amount aloud by league rules, banned from all games, practices and official team functions and will likely be forced to sell the team. But given he’ll make between $600-million to $800-million, it hardly seems like a punishment. If you’re not a Zack Snyder fan, you’re in for some punishment of your own as he’s been given the director’s chair for the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. Meanwhile, work on the untitled Batman vs. Superman flick continues with news that Cyborg will appear in the film and will be played by Ray Fisher, a stage actor in New York. Plus, Marvel may finally kill Wolverine. Recent artwork revealed that he only has three months to live due to an alien virus infection that prevents his healing powers from working. In other words, Logan is “killable”. We’ll know for sure in 90-days if Wolvey bites the big one. If it does happen, here’s hoping they retcon the character the right way and get rid of the bone claws and other bullshit. So what is worthy of the landfill? E.T. THE EXTRATERRESTRIAL for the Atari 2600 apparently. Roswell isn’t the only place you’ll find aliens in the New Mexico desert. Rumors in the gaming community have circulated for decades that as Atari crumbled, they ordered Eliot’s little brown friend to be buried in a landfill and covered with cement. The company had over 720,000 cartridges of what many considered to be the worst video game ever made stored in a Texas warehouse and they needed to get rid of ‘em. A film crew shooting a documentary about Atari that will air on Xbox later this year are credited with finding the games. But there’s been numerous consoles and thousands of games that have come out since the Atari 2600′s demise, so what other video games are landfill worthy? We make a list on today’s show. This episode also has another edition of “Chase’s Chance Upon” in which I chance upon something of interest. While channel surfing last week, I stumbled across the Black Shopping Channel. This is real. It’s currently available to DISH Network customers and as a live stream on the channel’s website. We have a link to it in the Show Links below. The channel features products from smaller, unknown companies and entrepreneurs and is geared toward a black audience. Dennis finds this hilariously awesome as IN LIVING COLOR did a black shopping channel skit years ago. He says he may even buy something… but not the $65 prayer pillow I saw them selling. We look at that and a few other products ‘as seen on TV’. Patrick Stewart is returning to TV! Well, cable anyway. And premium cable at that. As a regular voice on AMERICAN DAD, it seems he and Seth McFarlane have become pretty good chums. Seth along with Jonathan Ames have created a new live-action series called BLUNT TALK in which Stewart will star as a cable news host named Walter Blunt who juggles his ex-wives, kids, quirky news staff and all of life’s problems while keeping it together on air. The show has received a 20-episode, two season order from Starz. I’ll definitely check it out. I’d love to see some TNG alumni make appearances on the show from time to time. Given that McFarlane is a huge STAR TREK fan, that’s not too far fetched. In her new book, “The Kind Mama” actress Alicia Silverstone provides tips and tricks to boosting fertility as well as what some might consider, unorthodox parenting techniques. Some of her more unusual suggestions include not putting diapers on your infant, which could get messy, laying in bed for an extended period of time (perhaps weeks) with the child right after it’s born and feeding baby like a bird by chewing up solid foods and spitting them into the kid’s mouth. There’s video of her doing this in the Show Links. Bird feeding aside, mom’s do a lot of unpleasant things for their kids and we share a few that ours have done for us. And lastly, does eating turn you on? If so, we’ve found the perfect restaurant for you. It’s called Funny Sex and it’s located in Taiwan. There’s a video tour of the place in the Show Links. It’s decorated with sex toys, phallus statues and posters with factoids about boobs and other body parts. The ramen bowls are shaped like breasts and moldable foods like white rice or pudding are shaped like penises. The menus feature information about the average breast and penis sizes around the world, you can have an inflatable sex doll join you at your table and in the restrooms you’ll find big tits on the walls. When you push the nipples they dispense soap! So the first question is would you eat at this place? And the next question is guys, would you eat food shaped like a dick?
