Years of Service: 1990-PresentSheriff Gough began his law enforcement career with the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office in July of 1990. He started his career operating a riverboat for the Sheriff’s Office and eventually transitioned to a patrol car covering 760 square miles and a population of about 10,000 people. In 1996, at the age of 28, Shaun became the youngest person ever elected to the office of Sheriff in the State of Idaho and in that time has seen Gooding County grow from about 11,000 to nearly 16,000 people.
