EPISODE 3 (May 28, 2007): Cinema, Cineplexity, and TV Wars

In this episode we discussed the early 2007 summer film season, television's "off season" season, and the Cineplexity party game. In the mid-2000s television networks like USA created what we at Geekerati called the "off season" season during which they ran shows like MONK, BURN NOTICE, and WHITE COLLAR. These networks used the hiatus of the bigger networks as an opportunity to promote and distribute shows that might get lost in competition with the full network schedule.
