Episode - 30 - Mike Lamphere - Lo Fi Interviews with Hi Fi Guests

from Jughead's Basement · host John "Jughead" Pierson

Welcome again to Lo-Fi Interviews with Hi-Fi guests, Teacher, Mike Lamphere. This is the second in a series of four interviews I have conducted and will release consecutively with Punks working in the fields of service to the common good. I have interviewed, a punk doctor, teacher, police officer, and firefighter. Listen to Mike and John talk about The Fairness of Authority, Moral Models, Chicago Punk Rock, and how to guide the younger generations even though we are older and don't quite understand them. (as it should be). Dr. Mike Lamphere was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent his formative years in the pit at the Fireside Bowl, Metro, and various clubs in the Chicagoland area.  While attending undergrad college he was an active member of the scene in Carbondale, IL where he played in the Riff Randells as a member of the Lost Cross Music Co-op.  In 2000 he moved to Denver and then Colorado Springs where he is still an active member in the local music scene.   He finished his PhD in 2012 and after 16 years of teaching English and film classes has moved in to a role as Dean of Students at an Early College Program.  He currently is writing music for an upcoming project as well as a piece on music and youth culture/identity.ONE TIME DONATIONS TO JUGHEAD'S BASEMENT: ORPATREON LINK

Born and raised in Islamic Iran, I migrated to the US when I was 14 and began the journey to embodied freedom. For over a decade, I have been supporting female leaders to break free from systemic oppression and embrace the sacredness that is the core of every woman. This is the place you come to remember your innate wholeness, your innate Divinity and your utter and complete permission to be just the way you are. Each week, I will bring you interviews along with my spiritual and practical teachings. We’ll explore both the sacred and profane and dive deeply into all the things that have robbed women of our power and that good girls don’t talk about. Explicit
