The sunrise comes on whispered sighs, With dream stained skin and sleepy eyes. Its amber rays fill the room to help dispel the nighttime gloom. Morning hums with borrowed cheer, A fragile hope that feels sincere. Coffee steams, the world feels near, Yet shadows linger, faint but clear. By noon the light grows harsh and thin, A weightless ache beneath the skin. Laughter sounds a practiced art, A distant echo in the heart. The afternoon drags long and slow, The clock ticks loud but time won’t go. The body moves, the mind stays still, Each simple task a test of will. At dusk the sky exhales its gray, The warmth of morning slips away. The silence grows, the lights goes dim.
