Bill Oram, a Tillamook native, has covered the Los Angeles Lakes for nine seasons. As of Tuesday night, the Lakers have now missed the playoffs in seven of those. While movie projects and books have been written about the Showtime and Kobe/Shaq Lakers, Bill might just be SOL. “Probably have the worst record of any relatively long-term Lakers beat writer in franchise history,” Oram said on this week’s episode of The I-5 Corridor podcast. “…Nobody wants to read ‘Slowtime.’” We talk the Lakers’ disaster, what it’s like to work among the most famous people in the world — and, most importantly, Oregon high school mascots.
