Episode 31: Condition Based Maintenance Plus, or (CBM+) is a mindset transforming how the Air Force sustains its fleet

from AFLCMC Leadership Log Podcast · host AFLCMC

About 5 years ago, the Air Force embarked on a journey with Condition Based Maintenance Plus, also known as CBM+, to shift the sustainment enterprise from a “flying to failure” to a “flying to forecast” mindset. In this episode the CBM+ Program Office chief, Chris Damani, describes it as a new sustainment paradigm that is transforming the way the Air Force sustains its fleet. The central element is leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to turn sustainment data into valuable knowledge that puts the Air Force in control of its sustainment and logistics operations. Damani explained during our discussion that the overall future of CBM+, as he sees it, is that the CBM+ model or paradigm will become engrained into the way the Air Force sustains its fleet. To put it simply. CBM+ is not just another gimmick or buzzword, it’s just the way. For more information on all things related to AFLCMC visit our website at: https://www.aflcmc.af.mil.
