Cort starts with a review of the new album The Window by Ratboys. The guys discuss the confounding (to Cort anyway) listening approach of letting the music permeate your surroundings rather than focusing intently on each track. Ratboys are opening for The Decemberists, so clearly Brian and Cort have to discuss the effects of opening acts on concert goers. From there all hell breaks loose, and the discussion shifts to the commencement speech made by Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, which sparks a discussion about the role of athletes and celebrities in public discourse.
