In Episode 31 Bronwyn Kelly reads Chapter 8 Parts 1, 2 and 3 of her book, The People's Constitution: the path to empowerment of Australians in a 21st century democracy. In Part 1 she points out how most suggestions about reform of our governance focus on mechanical alterations of the existing system. However, these don’t offer much, if anything, in terms of the possibility of political inclusion. Nevertheless, there are some mechanical reforms that are essential.In Part 2 Bronwyn discusses the first of these essentials - the need to prohibit corporate and other organisational donations to political entities.In Part 3 she talks of the necessity of limiting the powers of the governor-general.
