Episode 32: Do Not Separate

Ever notice how some truths seem to go together? Stating one without the counterpart leaves you wanting to complete the thought. Truth #1: Truth without love is brutality. We've all experienced a brutally honest person who delivers hard truth with zero love, zero compassion, and negative zero empathy. At best we put up our armor and fight back. At worst we leave with a gaping wound that swallows any hope of addressing the hard truth. So what's the counterpart? What is love without truth? Truth #2: Love without truth is hypocrisy. You've been there, right? Some mushy sugary statement comes out of someone's mouth while the elephant in the room is so big nobody can ignore it. You know the speaker sees it to. But they ignore it. Cover it up with "love." So, you don't trust 'em completely. No, truth and love seem to be some kind of package deal.
