Charlie is an introvert. He enters high school as a lonely freshman, with zero friends. We've all been down this road. But Charlie has something that makes him special. As a wallflower, he observes the world clearly and sensitively. He knows good people when he sees them. That's why he becomes fast friends with Patrick and Sam, who teach him to open up and release the joy that is inside of him. "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is a wonderful film based on a popular book published several years ago, that drew many comparisons to "The Catcher in the Rye" and became a variation on that classic novel for a new generation of readers.
