Episode 32 - YA We Read Banned Books

Banned Book Week starts on the 27th this year, to celebrate we're talking about two recent books that have been challenged and banned multiple times. Rachael's book was published in 2007, and was the most challenged book of 2017. The book is centered around suicide, so we understand why people may think it glorified suicide, but we believe it's too important of a story to banned. Suicide TW: If you want to skip this book, start at 33:00 Kristia's book was published in 2017 and spent the first two years in the top ten banned books. It's often challenged and banned due to it's "vulgar language," "racially-insensitive language," and for "being anti-police."
