Episode 327 - Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

from In The Queue - Film Conversations with Andrew and Phil · host Andrew and Phil

A strong contender for awards in the writing category, Martin McDonagh's seething satire about the American South is also a powerhouse of a film.  Great performances and strong direction abound with surefire nominations for Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell.  Phil liked the film but felt it was a fairly obvious attempt to make a point about Southerners without quite capturing what life is like there.  Andrew admired how well-crafted it was, and loved the acting.  Will this end up being on their end of year top ten list?
