Episode 33: A childhood with two mothers

from Freelance Bristol Mum · host jellycast

Yvonne Craig Inskip, was brought up in 1930s London, by two mothers. It was a time when women living together was innocent, so no one asked - but her childhood was explained away by secrets. It wasn't until later in life she confirmed which one was her birth mother & traced her father. Her adult years were spent campaigning for contraception to be widely available with 'Every child a wanted child' and fought as a magistrate for mothers to have 50p an hour for childcare. A maverick and inspirational woman. Her story deserves to be told.
