Episode 33: CPR Saves Lives

from Health Matters: Getting Real About Wellness · host Sharon Martin & Daniela Contreras

When a member of the Butte Sailing Club suddenly suffered a heart attack on the dock at the Forebay in Oroville, it took a miraculous effort from a group of bystanders to save his life. Among those bystanders was Amy Yurus, a nurse in Enloe’s Emergency Department and a member of the Butte Sailing Club. Yurus took charge that day, acting immediately to perform CPR and administer an automated external defibrillator.  Jordan Reed, another member of the sailing club, helped Amy by grabbing the AED and helping with chest compressions. Amy, Jordan and Mark Conry, Staff Commodore for the Butte Sailing Club, tell their incredible story.
