Episode 33: Overcoming The Mental And Physical Barriers Of Body Image With Ashley Rogers

from The Fit Parent Podcast with Jeff Dalzell · host Jeff Dalzell

On today’s episode of The Fit Parent Podcast, I am joined by fitness and nutrition coach & mom Ashely Rogers to talk about her mental and physical journey with body image & fitness throughout her childhood and adulthood. We go into depth on: How to overcome society’s standards of body image to set our own standards How to identify negative core beliefs & combat them to achieve sustainable change How to balance body positivity and fitness goals Why the number on the scale tells you little to nothing about your fitness Why you can’t get to a physical transformation if you don’t first address your mental barriers The body image pendulum has swung dramatically over the years. We’ve been told that we need to be smaller, weigh less and generally be less. Expectations drive perception, and perception drives reality. These standards can feel impossible, but the reality is, these standards are not realistic and certainly not healthy. It’s hard to do, but we can’t let what society tells us need to look like affect how we perceive ourselves. Ashely’s approach makes that easier to do.You can connect with Ashley on Instagram or through her Facebook group, and watch her video on “mommy works out to be strong not skinny” here.
