What drives Assemblyman Ron Kim? Ron Kim is a Korean born immigrant who, when elected to the NYS Assembly in 2012, became the first and only Korean-American elected official in New York State. After working in his family's small business in Queens, NYC Ron went on to college and graduate school before entering the public service arena. He worked in government, behind the scenes, before running for his current seat. Ron discusses with Taekwondo Life Magazine the challenges of living, working, and serving the people in one of the most ethnically diverse areas in all of the United States, the 40th Assembly District of NYS. Ron Kim's civic and humane approach to representation lead to him receiving an honorary award from the Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarters, at the 2016 NY Open Taekwondo Championships and Korean Cultural Festival.
