Episode 338 – BLITZ
from The Matineecast
Runtime 57 minutes Show Contents 0:00 Introduction 1:36 The New Slang: BLITZ with guest Odie Henderson Thoughts from your host… In my introduction of this episode, I mention how the holidays are about spending time with people you haven’t seen in a moment. As I sit here and write this, I’m coming down from spending a weekend catching-up with dear friends I hadn’t talked to in months It’s a beautiful feeling … and all the same, one that’s bittersweet. Why does it take a holiday for us to spend time with each-other? True that we’re busy, but how did we all get so busy that we couldn’t find a little bit more time for each-other? I don’t want to sound disappointed or sad – every moment that I get to spend talking with anyone I care about is a moment well-spent. I guess I just wish sometimes that we didn;t have to wait for the holidays to share thoughts and feelings between sips of coffee. Like I say – bittersweet, but then again, my favourite holiday songs and films all have a touch of sadness to cut the merriment. Perhaps that’s just the nature of the holidays as we get older – and if that’s the case, I promise that I won’t linger on the bitter…and instead say how grateful I am for the sweet.
