Episode 34: Christian Counselor and Worship Pastor Clarence Church Talks About the Importance of Authenticity

from Music for the Soul Podcast · host Steve Siler

Authenticity is an emotion that seems to be missing from so many places today. Churches can often suffer from inauthenticity, creating environments where pastors have to appear as individuals who are almost "above" the sins and struggles that people face. So how can we bring authenticity back into the church? That is why we are delighted to have songwriter, vocalist and worship pastor, Clarence Church as our guest on this week's episode of the Music for the Soul Podcast. Clarence speaks on why authenticity is so important in the church, especially when it comes to attracting people into the church or creating a space that can promote healing for those who are struggling.  Who is Clarence Church? Clarence Church is a songwriter, worship pastor, Christian counselor, and vocalist who has worked in the field of worship for over 20 years. Clarence led worship in Vineyard Community Church for almost 10 years before shifting into his calling now as a Christian counselor. Clarence works in both of these environments to create a safe, authentic space for people to connect with the Lord. Clarence collaborated with Music for the Soul as a vocalist for the song, Binder of the Broken, which was written to help victims recovering from Hurricane Katrina.  Resources: Listen to all of the Music for the Soul songs that Clarence helped bring to life, including Binder of the Broken at the link here: www.musicforthesoul.org/product_musicians/clarence-church
