He is dedicated to a quest to solve a massive riddle hidden by the OASIS creator James Halliday. Who ever solves the riddle first gets control of the OASIS, which has become the center of power in the chaos of the real world. Wade and several friends bond together in the virtual world to take down an evil corporate entity called IOI that wants the OASIS for themselves. In the struggle to overcome the evil IOI, Wade and the gunters become friends in real life and learn that even the most awesome virtual world ever created can’t replace a happy life in the real world.
