Episode 34: “The Race is Now Over…Move to the Sidewalk”

Hearing that the race was over was such a disheartening moment during my 2022 Chicago Marathon experience. Those runners who are truly at the back of the pack face challenges faster runners may not ever even consider. It takes a special kind of determination to keep going when you’re told to move to the sidewalk and when mileage markers, aid stations and most of the cheering crowd are gone.
