Dr. Chris Hobbs is the Director of Institutional Advancement at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas. He has been a school administrator, athletic administrator and varsity basketball coach for nearly two decades at four different schools. Dr. Hobbs holds a master's degree in Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy, and an educational doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. He has also achieved Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) status from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. His research on sport leadership has been published by journals such as the Interscholastic Athletic Administrator, High School Today, and The Sport Journal. Coach and Athletic Director magazine recognized Hobbs as a "Top 40 Under 40" sport leader nationally in 2018, and Varsity Brand/BSN named him the High School Athletic Director of the Year in 2019. He has experienced success in the game of basketball as a player, earning NCCAA Division II First Team All-American recognition in college while scoring over 1,500 points at Clarks Summit University (PA). The success laid the groundwork for a coaching career that has seen 12 of Hobbs' players go on to collegiate careers and Hobbs himself receiving Coach of the Year recognition four different times in three different states.
