Episode 35: Sick and Tired

from The Being On Stage Podcast · host Reggie Daughson

Let’s be honest...Being sick SUCKS! Thats me in this episode - Sick! As performers, sometimes we have to work through sickness, sleep deprivation, heartache, life crapping on us; We have to work through it all because our audience needs us to. Yes, there is a time when you may to too sick to perform. That happens to everyone. But not every show needs to be cancelled because you coughed or sneezed. Sometimes when you push through and perform anyways you show that you are human. Performers that are human and “normal” are in short supply but the audience LOVES the authenticity of being human while on stage. They forgive our mistakes and our shortcomings when we show that we are like them...normal human beings that get sick, lose sleep, or go through hard times.
