Episode #35: The Real Value of College in the Age of Coronavirus

COVID has altered how classroom content is delivered. Also, it is bringing to the surface how students, parents, and even high school students value college and the 'college experience.'  Colleges are facing hundreds of lawsuits by students arguing they are not getting the same value online. They want a refund because online education doesn't match the tuition paid. Is the "value" of college just the degree or technical knowledge? Or are students and parents paying a huge premium in search of the "college experience."  The lawsuits are answering the question. Many are attending for the "college experience" as much as for the credential. Students want the sports teams, college bars, fancy dormitories, hi-tech student centers, gym complexes, fraternities, sororities, and all the accompanying social distractions.
