Alice Grant lived at Aidan House, a care home in Gateshead in Northeastern England. Due to her dementia and past strokes, she was dependent on the nursing staff for all her needs and could become frustrated with her predicament. Enter Alison Firth, a nurse with 16 years’ experience and a less than stellar job history. Alison didn’t like Alice; she required a lot of care and, frankly, Alison couldn’t be bothered, so she did the unthinkable: She gave Alice an overdose of Heminevrin and was confident that no one would suspect her.
