your birthday not as much as I used to before like cuz I mean after a while just kind of gets more done right like yeah I guess I mean like do you like your birthday yeah generally for the most part a lot of people don't like their birthdays really yeah I know a few people that are just like birthday it's just another day closer to my death or whatever like a little bit more those are like the dark people I'm not going to go dark I just need like yeah no and then there's some they're just like hate getting older like they don't like to be old yeah I mean I feel like the whole I don't dread my birthday like coming oh yeah I'm not a year older another year wiser yeah hopefully but I mean I don't know so since your birthday is in June did you ever because I know for schools I didn't you never celebrate it because you already on summer break right is either like near the very end of school like the last like either the second no but you had your birthday on a school day like you would have it like like you weren't you weren't out of school by the time you're breaking around yet no okay so you had your birthday when you're still in school it was either yeah it was pretty much at the end of school though right but I mean like you still had a chance to wear like your friends and be like oh it's Christmas birthday without oh it'd be like from the most part from what I remember to be like the last day of school yeah so no one even cared yeah because I was lost a school right and it was either it was either that school year ended like right like a couple days before my birthday and then but yeah so I never only reason why I bring it up is just because I never got to spend my birthday during the school year either because my birthday is in July oh yeah end of July keep in mind so it's like literally still summer birthday just remember okay end of July this year it's on a Wednesday perfect I know when exactly the text of when's this episode gonna come out but but do you always get jealous of those kids that had their birthday I did that's why I'm asking if you were able to like get that chance to wear like your friends or like your teachers like oh it's Christmas birthday today and you know that me that I was so mad all my other friends they all had birthdays during school year and whenever their birthdays would come up they would either get like stuff from a friend like you know little cupcakes yeah and I'd be the one like oh it's your birthday bro happy birthday and then when my birthday came around I'm just at home yeah no friends yeah no friends who am I kidding I had no friends right you're bully anymore no I'm still a bully to you yeah I know I appreciate it though thank you for being mean to me was it but yeah no I don't dread my birthday but it's just like I feel like at this point it's kind of I'm not super how old are you gonna be 26 hey 26 you're now obligated to get your own life not health insurance you can't be on your parents health insurance I mean I do I'm just saying no no I'm just saying those who are still on their parents health insurance it's only good till you're 26 oh yeah that point you got to get your own yeah no it's funny it's like I haven't like my coworkers and stuff like I thought like the way I treated health insurance was kind of bad like I was like oh whatever Kaiser right that's just it I mean you don't even go to the doctors yeah you still see the bad you don't use it I don't I don't use it but I guess okay never I can't say because I don't know the doctors I guess they do I think they do like a hindsight because it's more like they get the really like cheap insurance yeah and then like I guess they only I don't know if I actually go but anyway yeah no I don't I don't dread my birthday coming up but like I don't get as excited for it as when I was like younger you know so when you're younger like you're a super excited for it well just yeah just because like you know you got a little more attention than usual and it's like kind of your day you know and then like if you don't happen to a handful of times like whenever you're with someone and like it was your birthday this cool kind of getting a message from your girlfriend or whatever yeah like I like a more special one anyway right many of your friends ever said happy birthday to you oh yeah like yeah when I was in high school and said okay no you did come to my like birthday graduation party thing remember is that also for your birthday I thought that's for your graduation I think that might just be for graduation but I think it was near my birthday also wasn't it right I think it would no wait because it was like a couple weeks apart if I remember I think yeah we probably just celebrated it yeah the same time but yeah yeah so I mean like when I was younger though yeah definitely because I either got money or like I got like a new game or something do you do you recall having any like big birthday parties like themed birthday party I know pirates or something I never I was never I'm not too much of a fan of those either to be honest mmm because it's like you're just a hater because you never got them so how can you not be a fan if you never got one you know like this year we're gonna throw you a themed party oh I mean is Pokemon oh I don't know but because I don't think I've ever gotten one of those either not that I could recall and I'm not gonna lie I kind of want like a thing you want party I want to think for the party I told you and Venus this I also never gotten a surprise party before yeah so no pressure but you know anytime my birthday's coming around either this year next year maybe for my 30th I don't know surprise me it's gonna be hard to see it's hard though because we constantly hang out it's not gonna be hard though just we don't constantly hang out you guys constantly want to hang out I constantly deny I'll be like well see this thing like oh maybe pull off anyway just keep that in the back of your mind I'm gonna push it out of my head now so that I no longer remember it so whatever anyway did you have any like terrible birthdays or like anything like that you can call terrible birthday or like stuff maybe that happened during your birthday like fuck me and like time on my birthday no no but I had pretty good birthday parties I mean you know we just spent it with family our family's huge already so yeah and then you know our parents would always invite their friends and it's like I don't even know these people the fuck they're giving me a gift anyway so cool come on over you know was it close I want to keep you have I don't think I ever got when I was younger I think it was mostly toys that I got yeah I think yeah as we got older mainly clothes closer money yeah that's easiest no I do remember I think it was like 16th or 17th birthday I got hell of money and it was cool to and I said all that up and I actually went to a sushi place with like a couple of my friends so that was cool but yeah so did you ever do like one of those things I think it's like more so popular now I don't know but like a group of friends like either for your 18th or like teenagers in general whenever they have birthdays they always go out to like restaurants and by all their closest friends shit and like have dinner together and act like they're so cool because like they're at dinner without their parents you know probably secretly they're at another table yeah or something you ever do that like with your friends no not like we would go to dinner and stuff but it was just like for other people's birthdays never yours got it like just a hangout stuff yeah like the only dinner that really it really wasn't even dinner was like more of a luncheon yeah was like the was the graduation the day I graduated high school we all went to an Asian restaurant and some of my friends were there because obviously they had graduated too yeah so like we all went out but that's about it but nothing like nothing like that though what about you did you do that not for my birthday I don't think nothing I can call either actually no one my friend at least I know like for other friends birthdays we've gone like in college one of my friends it was her birthday and she wanted to like everyone to go to BJ's so we all went there ate there and stuff celebrated whatnot pay for old meals unfortunately I'm scared that was our gift to her we paid for old meals so she would have to pay for it what's funny is like in college I did I did more like dinners and lunches with my girlfriend yeah nothing and then maybe like a small party with my family and maybe some like family friends yeah but nothing to nothing too big not you I was mean about birthday and Philippines I was telling funny like so my first birthday they're like my 19th birthday like so I get like messages from my friends they're like oh so where we eating tonight yeah I was like oh well pretty much I don't know why sorry I'm like wait it's the tradition there that the birthday person pays for everybody else yeah well I was about to say that to you like I've always been so used to like if someone were to invite me to a restaurant like for a party or whatever the bills you should always taken care by whoever invited you right yeah so like literally one time one of our Mises had a birthday at a restaurant and it would keep in mind how people were invited there's we had like a long-ass table that probably fit at least like 50 people right itself and then there was a separate booth still people like for each so there's probably at least like over 60 people there right yeah it was at BJ's too so pretty expensive restaurant and then I assumed and our other cousin who went along to also soon this kind of bad to assume but I mean we were like raised this way that the bill was gonna get taken care of yeah right so then when we order our food our waitress was also like okay so who's tab you want to put this on like are you guys split you guys sharing the tab and all that the booth I was sitting with one of our other cousins not the one that thought those gonna be paid for as well but like one of our other cousin just like oh yeah just put it on mine it's fine I was like oh you're sure she's like yeah it's cool I'm like okay cool and then I turn around to the other cousin who thought it was gonna be paid for she's like are you paying for your food I'm like no she's taking care of it you think for sure yeah they're gonna pay for it like oh she's like this is so fucking weird like why am I paying why did I even come like I mean it's kind of like the way I say it now people listen to like why you guys are selfish like just pay for the food but it's like that's what we were kind of raised up really yeah I think that I don't know if it's like specific to our culture yeah as well usually like whoever invites you to the thing like whoever's hosting should pay pay for I mean there were hell of people there so I get it just that makes more sense to me like if you're gonna host a party like that stuff I feel like falls under your duties as the host you know I mean I mean it's cool like if we slit the bill when sure fine you know we all pitch I mean at that point it's just basically pay for your meal nevermind else always do that but like I get it but yeah I was just so used to like having cuz I know I've gone to other birthday dinners within our family where they paid for it was like oh cool we just went to dinner together and they paid for that's chill yeah sucks though cuz also there's a lot of people there but at least they paid for it yeah I mean and like that's what's funny is like so back to my sort of I got you offside it's cool yes I'm like they kept answering me though like oh so are you and take us like fucking no where's my birthday like okay I was like what do you mean like oh it's the tradition here that the birthday person like they said we're not like oh well sorry I don't feel good or something like I was my way out of it but we had no like some that's like I'm always curious though to see how like other countries do their birthdays just cuz like over here it's like yeah if you invite everyone else like you kind of do like take care of it or I think if you're older though like and it's your friends are it's your friend's birthday like you take them out and kind of let them have a good time you know yeah yeah I think yeah never mind I don't know what I think did you ever shut up did you ever get like the relaxed environment for my birthday something really like chill and where you spend more quality time together rather than something doing like something crazy yeah like I remember high school all my friends birthdays are like oh yeah we're gonna try to get like drinks and like you know party it up and it's like I'm all right like these are high school birthday parties yeah mainly like 17 like 18 age should we party it up for your graduation high school graduation oh yeah your friends did yeah I got to open this morning thank I call when your friends threw up the night of the party like in the middle of the fucking family room like he fell on the floor and threw up it was like laying in his own body I was like oh god you don't remember that it was a I'll bleep the name it's already been bleeped but yeah yeah he felt he fell down or not fell down I think he was like laying on the floor chilling right he's like he drank hella much and then I don't remember how he got on the floor all I recall is just seeing him on the floor on his side and like vomit from his mouth like on the floor I'm just oh fuck like pick him up like get him up get him up right and like we had a cleaner and shit yeah yeah he held it through up and then a few of your other friends got pretty drunk I don't think they anyone else threw up though but I literally think it's just him and then maybe you I guess that you threw up the next day but I do remember because the next morning I was like I'm gonna like it's like like 6 a.m. I run downstairs and I go back to her and I'm vomiting yeah and I remember you come out you just give me a napkin and you're like you good yeah so from my 21st birthday one of our other cousins wanted to throw me a party at their place and he did and like he invited it was mainly like just the like guy cousins and adults and stuff I don't recall any of the girl cousins being there but it's like a bunch of dudes and we all just like drank played like some fucking alcohol games and stuff like flip-kop beer pong all that yeah and he had like moonshine that he made me like drink to and I don't I didn't get drunk I just remember being like feeling a little buzzed and whatnot and I think my dad was there too he was playing flip-kop with us as well it was really fun but I remember him saying like oh how slow down slow down because I think he thought I was getting drunk but I know I was fine I'm like I'm good like I'm fine of course I'm not gonna drive or anything but like I was fine and then even my cousin to or the one that through the party he's like he's good on goal he's good he's fine and like he's like here try this out he made me drink moonshine that's fucking nasty as hell this is gross it's just straight up distill or it's just straight up alcohol like like rubbing alcohol like it's I had was like disgusting because it was straight up straight moonshine but you listen this podcast and be like wow yeah he doesn't listen I don't think but yeah he did that for me that was really cool though because like he it was at his place is pretty huge so like he brought all that alcohol provided everything and shit that's tight shout out to you I forgot he doesn't listen but you don't have to you guys because but yeah that was cool and then what you call it that's like the only time really where like on my birthday I drank like a lot for sure yeah because I don't I don't normally drink the only other time where I know I think I was drunk was actually for our cousins wedding that we had like four years ago back in October it was out in Tahoe and the after party was at like this club slash bar like small little venue thing and I went there and all our cousins were there all the ones that went to the wedding at least and we were all just drinking shit having a good ass time and then I think the reason why I knew I was drunk is because I actually ended up throwing up yeah I threw out yeah I threw up and then like like I said because I'm so loud already without alcohol and like usually they say like your drunk version of yourself is like the opposite of you like your normal sober self so because I'm loud already without alcohol I was just quiet as fuck with alcohol no I swear God I was literally like I knew I was drunk because I got to the point where I was just sitting at the table just smiling and nodding my head to music just quiet as hell I swear dude like one of the the grooms side his mom's side or whatever one of their family members who's not our blood was like sitting next to me she was like drinking her drink she's like I can't finish this you want to finish this for me she's hella cute too by the way I was like yeah sure whatever she's like cool I was just like sipping it and I just sat there still smiling I'll help quiet and she's like trying to talk to me I was like yeah yeah yeah yeah still hella quiet I'm so fucking quiet dude like that's my drunk version of myself so that's why like people whenever someone tells me like do you want to see you drunk it's like no you really don't like I'm better not drunk yeah I'm better I'm so really like I can't really agree though with the whole like drunk self but it goes like first birthday is the huge one because they just turned one yeah and then after that the next big one might be ten or something like that what about three three no they don't know those they don't really care for and then it's 16 or 18 or depending on your whatever reference and then 21 obviously and then after that technically supposed to be 25 but not too many people celebrate that as a huge thing then literally after that it's all the like tens like 30 40 50 yeah no oh I guess it's just like I don't know anybody who celebrates six month birthdays that extravagant like I mean I mean it could be wrong or even doing a little birthday for like just oh like seems pointless because they're not gonna remember yeah I mean for kids first birthday it's mainly for the parents not for the kid that's what I mean well it's because it's just like tradition that's just how it is you celebrate the first birthday because they the kid has made it to a year and the parents have made that kid survive for a year so it's like you know oh my god he's what now yay you know so like it's like a big thing so so technically when you reach a year aren't you like a year and nine months old because you bet you were created and then you're still like alive in your mom's belly right for like nine months right and then your year doesn't come until after those nine months like once it reaches when you were born right so aren't you technically a year and nine months old damn right right dude so we're all you're 20 you're about to be 26 and nine months dang crazy right so like my actual birthday would have been like what so yeah so like if you know nine months june yeah so three months later would have been a years that you've been alive yeah so your actual birthday june july if you actually birthday your actual birthday is in September yeah it's crazy right our uncle his birthday is on February 28th or 29th one of the days that disappeared in February because you know February only has like 28 or 29 years yeah so I think it's birthday is on February 29th so like really seven years yeah so like every four years whatever he doesn't have a birthday so like there's always that running joke in a family that no one knows his actual age like they say he's about to be 70 but in reality is probably like 74 or some shit I don't know what else is there to celebrate I mean there's like graduation since I feel like a yeah like going from like elementary to like middle school I don't think that deserves a party or like elementary to like middle school yeah I don't think our one cousin does like dinners like not an actual party like she'll invite people over for like a small dinner or something to celebrate that but yeah there's there's some people that go a little excessive with their kids like celebrations wise and stuff and it's kind of like okay we get it you know what they do but yeah so but I think middle school to high schools pretty big you know because I think so because I had a great graduation party but that's only because it was also my brother's high school graduation party so it was like combined well I think it's pretty big so I'm going on high school next next time to shine my party we both got money so chill and then high school to college obviously is huge and college graduation I didn't go to my graduation yeah you did we is so at my current job or my current position right we have to support live events and part of that job inquires us to inquire inquires us to like listen in on the meeting like during the call like there's like a zoom call or like a video conference call like we'll get into the meeting ourselves and like listen and make sure the audio sounds good and all that and I use my air pods right like it connects to my laptop and then I log into the meeting and I'm like hearing it to my air pods right before because you know how you can name yourself on your phone like you be like hey Siri what's my name like you'll tell your name so I thought it was funny that I named myself big daddy so like when I asked Siri like hey Siri what's my name should be like your name is Kyle Ignacio but because we are friends I could call you big daddy right and when I connected my air pods my phone the name for the air pods were big daddy's air pods right yeah so when I'm listening on the zoom call right we have this other thing where we can check the back end of the zoom call seeing like who's all connecting like what they're connecting with what they're listening to like what they're using listen to it right and we're checking one of the meetings I was sitting in on right like my co-worker showing me like yes I just want to see everything and looking at it and then I noticed like under like my name and like listening device like what I'm using listen to him like holy fuck he's like what like bro it says big daddy's air pods he's like he's like yours like yeah he starts busted up lap and he's like oh my god you know like I changed my name I gotta change my name now so now they're just called Kyle's air pods lesson but not big daddy's air it's still connected to my name though because it says she's calling nasi oh like is on the call but yeah it was hella funny I was like oh fuck yeah so I had to change that I know they just reminded me of it that was talking about the air pods speaking about it really quick it's just funny sorry so last I me and Jess were playing right on our laptop show playing Minecraft nervous bus I yeah and we're based on each other our face I'm audio right so I was listening in my air pod and like you know how with air pods you know because of the charging case and like if one starts to die it lets you know whatever so I was using my right air pod grandma's funeral that thing was huge you remember when we like there's our family in general is huge and like when she passed away do you have everywhere man like yeah we had a police escort mm-hmm that was tight we have police escort all the way from Tracy to the Bay Area where she was gonna be buried at yeah which was like crazy that was cool really like I felt special yeah I do remember like you're passing some like some like light or whatever and just like I remember turning around just all our family and just like please escort all the way going all the way back yeah yeah that's huge everyone came out for that all her kids did so that's cool what else is there you're easy that's that's why yeah I already said like all the major holidays Christmas Thanksgiving all that although there's a right now currently I mean it's not necessarily celebration but my friend he's doing Ramadan right now so he's fasting just like crazy like I can't imagine the stuff that they go through like that's just so because he was like telling me like he would come into work because he starts work at 3 p.m. and he's like he didn't eat anything from like the time you woke up to 3 p.m. and he can't even eat till after eight I'm just like dude I don't know how you do it man he's like yeah you know it's a struggle but you know obviously over time you get used to it and anything just like yeah I just hard stuff yeah I mean he had a break it a couple times over that's only because he was taking medicine and like even ingesting like medicine is breaking the fast yeah which is like crazy because it's just like literally anything you ingest you can't like do that so it's pretty cool though like how it out committed it is yeah I mean I'm sure there's is there any like Filipino holidays um there's yeah there's all same state that was kind of weird okay so all same is that like Filipino other is that just religion related I think that's specifically both more so specifically like four Filipinos it might be called something else like in other cultures that or that maybe like Catholic well I again I wouldn't know but so it's like I think it's don't call me only but it's like I forget I think it's an October like right around Halloween and it's all same stay like I think the day before it might be like a Friday before the Halloween or some shit and then I think the day of Halloween it's all Souls Day well is that like the same version for us is like day-to-day for the Hispanic culture I believe so because on all like on all same say I think you spend the days like in the church like just going to service and all that stuff and all souls they I think you do the same thing but then you end up going to the obviously like resting burial like the area yeah and like family members will just be around like their past loved ones and they'll like have food and all that stuff and I remember like one year they actually issued a warning though in one of the major areas in the Philippines just because like it was also all they had everyone was going out yeah and they're like okay you know because they didn't want the place to be like littered with garbage so they're like okay well like don't bring playing cards or like any other like other stuff like they had like make people leave at a certain time and stuff like it was so populated and stuff like that so I know for Lent for Filipinos that's huge like like Lent is like a Catholic thing you know it's a Catholic celebration but for Filipinos we take that stuff serious and it's like we can't eat meat on Fridays during Lent season which like sucks you know this past Lent season I eat meat like almost Friday sorry forgive me Lord but I mean yeah you don't care so that's you and then like on Good Friday I think like which is like the week or so before Easter or something like that or I can't remember but like my parents they would always do this thing I don't exactly know what it's called besides just Good Friday or like what the actual act of doing it is called but they would go to like seven churches like across like different areas and like just visit them and like do a quick little prayer there and then move on to the next like for the whole day oh yeah yeah they I remember doing that one time with them it was me my brother and like during that day too you can't have like it's not that you can't have fun but you kind of can't like do anything like you have to be quiet like no radio nothing so like I remember one time we were in the car driving to the next church just completely quiet yeah yeah it's pretty crazy yeah was it often it's good Friday related but I know my mom does like the stations of the cross thing yeah and I was the other thing I was gonna say to you like I know the Philippines like they take that like shit hell is serious like I remember watching stuff like on Filipino channel like on the news where they would literally reenact the crucifixion oh yeah like straight up reenact it like like step by step so they'll have people carry like a big ass wooden cross like down the street and like literally where the thorn thing and actually get crucified yeah like legit it's crazy I was like yeah I think that toned down in the recent years yeah I think so too because I don't see it as much yeah because I think everyone was worried about like the health of the religious holidays are pretty big in the Philippines I remember I would get a class off on religious holidays dang really yeah even like so I went to a private Christian university so like it was allowed but even like the public universities are like government universities yeah they would be close to just because everyone would be going to church yeah yeah yeah it is crazy man to in next week were episodes about religion I think another big one that's only related to the Philippines it's not really like a holiday but like whatever many packing has a fight oh like it like it's crazy dude traffic stops everyone's like yours still though I feel like he's at least over here in America he's totally irrelevant oh like no Filipino here cares anymore I mean it toned down like in the later years when I was in Philippines but yeah when I first got there like the first two years and you before that you like you could hear the bustling of traffic every day whenever there's a packet fight yeah everyone's either like a gymnasium watching the fight because they would stream it for free and then or like you're at like a relatives house and there's yeah I mean here before to when he was relevant like when he was just first starting out we had parties for every of us like a huge ass party like all family come over cook hell food yeah like all my friends in high school they would all come over and watch him fight like none of them were Filipino like my friend come over Mexican favorite come over and have a black man anyways they would all come over and shit like watching like root for him and everything like it was great I remember those days that's fun because like it was always be huge as part of like now just that me too he has a fight coming up yeah yeah to come over to the past right oh no like I said he's no I think there's one coming up in July or something he's fighting someone I forgot who I would be wrong I remember there's a Filipino fighter in the UFC for a while really no more than you know so you kind of got big but like I think he totally got eclipsed by like many back yeah mmm just because like he you know he's the first one on TV in terms of like yeah like just in sports and all that's pretty crazy so again tomorrow's your birthday well once this comes out your birthday has already passed so happy birthday yeah I'll be working on a birthday yeah should take that day off dude I mean like Luke I do have vacation time and right what it's like I was thinking like even if I use it so I paid the same amount of money right because so I still I definitely have a week left and the 10th and I'm done right for your work yeah okay so if I use my last day is the 10th Monday yeah so you're gonna go in on that Monday and then after that no more yeah oh that's weird okay and then because I start your place on the 17th yeah right falling week yeah okay so you so yeah so you're only working from the third to the 7th and then literally on the 10th and then from the 11th to the 14th you're off yeah oh okay I just want to get myself some time right right it doesn't make sense but like so one thing though is if I use my vacation time for like throughout the 3rd to the 7th or whatever like there's no point in doing that because it's like I'd still get paid eight hours for those days obviously since vacation time yeah I think once you if you have vacation time left over and like you leave the company they have to pay you for those vacation time yeah so should I then just work that week and then have my vacation time or should I just use it because it doesn't really matter either way right well I think no it does I think it's better to work out this week and then just don't use vacation time because you get paid for the you know going into work for that week because you have a week vacation time you get that on top of the week you worked oh right okay we have more money yeah for sure because if you use your vacation time tomorrow then it's just that one day of vacation time you're not getting the extra money that you work for the day because you're not in work yeah okay yeah so facts drop in knowledge here first I'm talking
