Episode 364: Royal Rumble 2000

On this episode of What Happened When, Tony and Conrad watch the epic WWE World Championship Hell In A Cell match between Cactus Jack and Triple H! This match suggestion comes from T.J. Stephens from La Porte, Indiana. His choice is tremendous, as we take you back to Madison Square Garden in early 2000. T.J. wrote: "Hello Tony, Conrad, and the rest of the WHW Slapdick Nation. Today's special match will be Cactus Jack v HHH for the WWF Title at Royal Rumble 2000. To me, this is the most under appreciated PPV title match of the past 25 years, and the story was terrific. So, let's all sit back, relax, and listen to Tony shit on me, and this match. Thank you." It is here where Ric Flair defends the NWA Heavyweight Championship against Ted DiBiase. However, the match was not so much the memorable part of this night as much as the angle between DiBiase and Dick Murdoch. It is a great television wrestling show, so says LKBH Mike Lednicky of West, Texas, who suggested this watch along: "Would it be too much to ask to watch the show or just the world title between Flair and Dibiase from the 11-16-85 episode of Mid-South Wrestling? I was 11 when that happened and it was and still is maybe the greatest single hour of wrestling TV I've seen, capped off by that title match which turned Dibiase face."
