How much of how you are feeling at work, might have nothing to do with work? When we attempt to measure employee experiences, we rarely take into account how people's experiences might be impacted by their internal state - their Core Affect, but it could be clouding their view of what they experience. Our emotions are impacted by many factors but our internal state is often neglected and yet it could have a profound impact on our experiences, especially our work experiences, from factors that may be completely unrelated to work.
