Beethoven Vandaag De Munt / La Monnaie In 2020 zou Ludwig van Beethoven 250 jaar geworden zijn. Om dit te herdenken bracht het Symfonieorkest van de Munt reeds in de vorige seizoenen onder leiding van zijn muziekdirecteur Alain Altinoglu een integrale cyclus van de negen symfonieën. Het Brusselse operahuis vroeg tegelijk aan vier hedendaagse componisten om elk een nieuw orkestwerk te componeren dat in dialoog zou treden met de muzikale erfenis van Beethoven en daarbij een solist van het Muntorkest in de spots kon plaatsen. In “Beethoven Vandaag” – een reeks van vier podcasts – blikken we terug op de creatie van deze nieuwe orkestwerken en de Beethovensymfonieën die er de inspiratie voor vormden.
