The Schuminsky family is a high-net-worth family headquartered in Yukon, Oklahoma, with real estate holdings in Oklahoma, Texas, California, Arizona, Tennessee, Nevada, and Kansas. The family “CEO” is Jay Schuminsky, who has been the steward of the family holdings for over 15 years and who continues to be active in the day-to-day management responsibilities of the portfolio.Jay’s father Mike Schuminsky was the founder of a retail wig operation in the 60’s and 70’s, started while Mike was in Law School in Oklahoma. Eventually developing its own manufacturing operation in China and importing wigs and accessories to the US, Mike Schuminsky operated retail locations in multiple states until the going concern was sold and Mike began investing in real estate. Jay Schuminskygrew up working in real estate with his father and became the chief decision maker upon his graduation from Pepperdine with his MBA.The Schuminsky family real estate holdings have included self-storage, retail, warehouse, land, multifamily, and office. Much of the holdings are self-managed out of Yukon, Oklahoma.
