Rob Dietrich is the currently the Master Distiller of Metallica's Blackened American Whiskey, though he may have the most diverse resume in his field, reflecting a man that remains impossible to categorize (and hard to hold down for long). Rob is a combat veteran who joined the Army in his twenties and served three tours, one of them being the incident referred to as "Black Hawk Down". He's a lifelong die-hard music fan of every genre, who chooses to have a record player in his home instead of a television. Rob also has an impressive music career, formerly having worked for Bill Graham Presents for a decade (his first assignment for the world famous promoter was The Tibetan Freedom Concert in 1996, which made an indelible impression and impact on his life). This another episode that feels like "Jaymee's made a new best friend" (which seem to be happening more often these days). This episode was the brainchild of Jaymee's brother Benjamin Carpenter, who works for Rob and Metallica at Blackened. Also discussed:  why vinyl records and coolections are important Big Black (and other groups you haven't heard of that we have) details you never hear about joining the army and being in combat how psychedelics & going off the grid reduced combat PTSD why fireworks are lame for veterans (and dogs) the importance of listening to your children trusting intuition How to keep your sanity in the hell of war the car ride w/ Beastie Boy Adam Yauch that changed his life what it's like to meet and work for your hero's Pioneering Black Noise Sonic Enhancement at Blackened FEATURED GUEST: Rob Dietrich (@whiskeyrob on IG) MORE ABOUT BLACKENED: www.blackenedwhiskey.com FEATURED MUSIC: "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica (performed by Phoebe Bridgers) + "Bodhisattva Vow" by Beastie Boys. Dead Beautiful What if the man you love is the God of the Dead? That's the problem facing Persephone. Her mother, Demeter, is a Level-1 goddess who wants Persephone to marry Darryl, demi-god of home repairs, and stay close to home. Her father, Zeus, the top god on Mount Olympus, is a bit grumpy these days, fed-up with all the demands being made on him. And Hades, well, now that she's getting to know him, Hades isn't what Persephone expected at all — he's handsome, smart, sensitive and witty — in a word, hot.Beautiful, intelligent and strong-willed, Persephone's in line to be a Level-1 goddess herself someday. The problem is … she's dissatisfied and restless. This new take on the classic myth is a smart, sexy, fast-moving read. Dead Beautiful explores the many faces of love, explains why there are four seasons, and reveals what really happens after death.* The author would like to thank filmmakers Joseph Ghaleb (www.josephghaleb.com), and Daniel Faria (www.danielfaria.com) and musicians Manuel I Revealing. "Who is "Miss Ellis?" Why did she board a ship from France to England at the beginning of the French revolution? Anyway, the loss of her purse made this strange "wanderer" dependent upon the charity of some good people and, of course, bad ones. But she always comforts herself by reminding herself that it's better than "what might have been..." This is not only a mystery, not at all. It's also a romance which reminds readers of novels by Jane Austen. Published in 1814, the same year as Mansfield Park, it shares some themes with it. It is also very modern, speaking freely of independent women (like Elinor), weak male characters, and unrequited love. Yes, a love triangle is lurking behind the scenes, and, in this case, it is not clear if the happy ending is suitable. At the time when it was published, critics did not like this political novel, and said that the difficulties which "Ellis" faced From the Heart with Rachel Brathen Rachel Brathen Rachel Brathen is a bestselling author, podcast host, and serial entrepreneur who inspires millions every day.
