Episode 385: NBA Load Management; Then and Now with Thomas Smith

from Sports Wagon Podcast · host Woody G

Friend of the show Thomas (Tommy) Smith started a conversation with me about Victor Wembanyama which gave birth to this episode. Some interesting stats were presented which compared Wemby's current trajectory as a NBA star in comparison to NBA greats. In response to these stats, I stated that load management should keep him on track for a long career. Tommy argued that load management is not a new phenomenon in the NBA and I invited him on the show to discuss the topic. We had a great time talking about this as well as the NBA Finals, his sports background, how he became a Minnesota Vikings fan and the outlook for the 2026 season. I hope you'll tap in to this episode, the first between season Wednesday Conversation.
