In 1920s Littlehampton, Edith Swan, a devout Christian starts receiving hate mail, this causes great distress for her and her family. The letters are extremely vulgar and often allude to her in a sexual way. The main suspect is her Irish neighbour Rose Gooding. A single mother who enjoys drinking and swearing and is a lively character. The story reveals they were originally good friends until an incident at Rose’s father’s birthday. As the mystery unravels it reveals an unlikely suspect. Wicked Little Letters is remarkably accurate to the actual events!
