Episode 39: A chat with Joe Avati

What an absolute thrill it was to have Italian Australian comedy legend Joe Avati join us for an episode! With a career spanning over 25 years Joe is an icon both in Australia and internationally. Listen to our chat to hear more about his story and his view on how ‘political correctness’ has impacted the comedy scene. We also discussed our shared heritage and our identity as Italian Australians. The day after we recorded this episode Josie attended Joe’s current award winning show ‘When I was your age’ at Crown Theatre and witnessed first hand Joe’s talent as a performer. It is without a doubt that he is very deserving of his recent award ‘Comedian of the Year.’
