Episode 39: Intentional Worship
from Detox with Abi · host Abimbola Arawande
(Romans 12:1; John 4:23-24) Worship is an act. It is more than singing songs to God. It is more than singing during “praise and worship” session. It involves our everyday thoughts and acts. I love the way the Message and Amplified version explain worship- “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.” ROMANS 12:1 AMP “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering...Romans 12:1-2 MSG Be intentional about your worship to God. Let your worship emanate from within your heart as Jesus said in John 4:23-24 (MSG) “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”” Remember, be intentional about your worship to God. Let’s pray Father I thank for the regeneration of my spirit the day I received Jesus into my life. I thank You for Your Holy Spirit that opens me to the truth of Your Word Today, I pray for fresh and increased grace to be intentional about truly worshipping you with all my being. Thank You Father for answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
