Episode 39: Royal Rumble 2000
from Grilling JR Hosted by Podcast Heat | Cumulus Podcast Network
On this week's Grilling JR with WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross & Conrad Thompson, the topic is one of the most fondly remembered WWE PPVs of all time, the Royal Rumble from the year 2000, which took place in New York City's Madison Square Garden! In the midst of WWE's now runaway victory over WCW, they had to figure out what to do with the top of the card, without Stone Cold Steve Austin, who would still be out of action another 9-10 months. After a lackluster Big Show title reign, Triple H was now the WWE Champion, and feuding with a newly focused and freshly returned Cactus Jack! They would engage in one of the best matches in MSG history. Plus the newly signed Dudley Boyz would get a chance to show what they were all about in a Tables Match with The Hardy Boyz, and former ECW Champion Tazz would debut to one of the loudest pops of all time, against a very early in his career Kurt Angle. Hear all about these talents and their matches, plus Mae Young and the Bikini Contest, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Chyna, The New Age Outlaws, The Acolytes, Edge, Christian, Bob Backlund, Kane, and so much more!
