| Wildlife Conversations with/ Phoebe Carnes, Episode 39 |Phoebe Carnes (@phoebeswildlife) grew up in North Carolina near Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and it has been the muse of her photography and career path. Her images introduce viewers to the wonder of the park’s diversity, and she particularly loves showcasing the park’s elk herd on the North Carolina side of the Smokies. Right now, Phoebe is an undergraduate wildlife biology student and has worked in wildlife conservation and management in Great Smoky Mountains National Park with NPS staff. This summer, she will be earning a Master’s degree at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. During this time Phoebe will be in both Florida and South Carolina and hopes to show the beauty of the Southeast through her photography. She’s also working on an interdisciplinary project called Tapestry of America, which highlights the wildlife and wild places national parks protect. She hopes to inspire others to advocate for our public lands.
